Pablo HERTESPablo Hertes is a 28-year-old visual artist from Guatemala. Influenced in part by Sartre, Camus and the existentialist movement, Hertes searches inward for ways to connect to the people and places around him. The imaginative process is enhanced by shared experience as he works to capture the weight of life in his original photography. These photos provoke a visual reference for those who struggle to find the patterns between internal and external experience. Hertes’ goal is to create awareness about social and cultural transformation, with an eye on that which unites us. “I care for others. I see myself in them. Then I’m moved to create. Create and externalize so that I might really see myself.”
